QUAD has announced three writing courses and workshops for 2022, covering poetry and novel writing and self-publishing.
Writing Poetry is a six-week course led by acclaimed Derbyshire poet and performer Sophie Sparham. Throughout the session, you’ll be looking at key elements such as form and literary devices, as well as exploring the importance of editing and the exciting opportunities presented by collaborative work.
Writing a Novel for Beginners takes place over eight weeks and is led by novelist and creative writing tutor Helen Cooper. This course will look at aspects such as pacing, dialogue, characterisation and more, as well as exploring great novels of the past and present day to see what makes them work.
Finally, on the 26th February, successful self-published author Dawn Brookes will be leading an Introduction to Self-Publishing Day. The one-day session will explore the do’s and don’ts of this area of writing and publishing and leave you all set up to begin your independent author journey.
Alex Davis, Literature Officer for QUAD, said:
