Derby’s Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) will hold its first Food and Drink Fortnight, from Friday 1 to Sunday 17 October. Showcasing the diverse offer available in the heart of the city centre.
Businesses across the Cathedral Quarter’s hospitality sector will be providing exclusive offers for customers over the two weeks and the BID will also publish its new Food and Drink Guide which will be distributed in print form across the city and will also be available on the Cathedral Quarter’s website.
The publication will feature special trail maps highlighting different themes such as cocktail, coffee, and vegan trails to tempt in different visitors with specific tastes.
Chefs and business owners have also contributed to the publication with recipes, foodie tips and information to help customers make an informed choice about their dining and entertainment destinations.
Many of these businesses have been nominated in the annual Marketing Derby Food and Drink Awards which will be announced at an event on October 18.
Martin Langsdale is chair of the Cathedral Quarter BID. He said:
“The Cathedral Quarter is Derby’s central hospitality destination with a wide range of popular and award-winning bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit every palate and pocket.Having experienced such a difficult time during the pandemic, we were keen to organise the Food and Drink Fortnight to showcase all the great businesses and venues in this unique heart of the city centre and to encourage people back as we approach the important Autumn and then Christmas seasons.”
