The event will be an online live premiere of a film made by the projects’ participants, showcasing the lives of Derby residents where English is a second language, The film is an amalgamation of creative learning and storytelling co-created by participants of their journey with the English language. The event will be hosted online by QUAD ESOL Project Coordinator Kajal Nisha Patel and QUAD Digital Participation Curator John Whall.

QUAD’s Creative ESOL was a project to engage with communities where English is a second language, through creative activities. The FREE workshops offered a way for those wishing to learn English a chance to increase language skills in a fun, creative and informal environment. QUAD’s Creative ESOL project is part of Derby City Councils ESOL For Integration Fund, supported by the Ministry for Housing Communities and Local Government, and aims to engage with communities where English is a second language through creative activities. The project is funded to help local authorities meet the English language needs of their communities, meeting learning and communication needs through creative learning and cultural exchange.
